While there are a multitude of businesses that advertise and conduct their business as expert consultants, we feel that it is more important to not only identify the opportunities and issues facing a client, but then roll our sleeves up and assist with their implementation. While our core group has almost 100 years of experience in the technology, business development, intellectual property, engineering and life sciences fields, we also have immediately available an extensive network of subject matter experts (SME’s) to address especially complex challenges. This network has been established over many decades of working with commercial, military and academic institutions. If we don’t know the expert directly, we know the experts that know the experts and have the relationship to rapidly bring them to bear. LHKO prides itself on its vast strategic background and ability to grasp the “big picture” along with all of its concomitant challenges. We are also especially proud to state that we don’t just claim we are a diverse team, but we truly exemplify and operate as a team.  Many consulting firms and companies claim that they have assembled a diverse management team, but in reality they are usually populated with mostly business management, or on the other extreme mostly technical management. Many claim, but few practice this valuable synergistic management practice.

An area that LHKO is unparalleled in and separates us from many of the larger commercial consulting firms, is its grasp and understanding of the complexities of dealing with the military/federal government. Our understanding of the grants processes, cooperative agreements, cooperative research and development agreements, acquisitions, military procedures, and how to rapidly navigate the government bureaucracy is an invaluable capability. We can frequently get access to facilities and accelerate the transition of technologies that would normally take years, to a matter of months and sometimes weeks. Data mining and partnering with government laboratories for government funded research is also a capability. Why conduct expensive testing and research if there is a government laboratory with that capability and need to partner with commercial entities for rapid development of its mission needs that can be dual use. LHKO associates in the past have negotiated many cooperative research and development agreements, with government laboratories, resulting in validation and cost savings to its clients.
